This is a stunning and uncommon pendant featuring four French-cut diamonds set in a central frame aligned on the bias and surrounded by "petals," each of which is rimmed with detailed milgraining and set with a small old mine cut round diamond. The four French-cut diamonds are near-colorless (F/G) and quite clean (VVS2-VS2). The enlarged image showing the diamonds The table cut was an early diamond cut where the top of the crystal was sheered off to provide a flat, reflective "table" facet. The French Cut is a more sophisticated diamond cut and evolved over many years to become a sophisticated, enormously popular cut in the 1920s and 1930s. The geometry of the modern French cut was a glove-like fit with the geometric aesthetic of the era. Including the bail -which was added at a later period- the pendant measures 23.53mm x 17.44mm. I'm including the 18" contemporary platinum chain that accompanied the pendant when I acquired it. A simple piece you can wear every day that, upon second glance, is remarkably unique! A very special diamond pendant indeed. The four French Cut diamonds here weigh approximately 1.50 carats with the remaining diamonds adding up to another .20 carats.
