A fabulous rock quartz and smoky topaz necklace from the late Art Deco (ca1930) era! This unique piece is comprised of a strand of smokey topaz beads that meet in the middle at a rock quartz crystal pendant, which is particularly large in size. The crystal is oval shaped and beautifully faceted along the sides and back. Riveted into the center of the flat plaque center is a lovely beetle made of smokey topaz. The carved bug has 6 bent legs and two antennae made of sterling silver wire. Adorning the top of the pendant are three large leaves made of carved smokey topaz, which have wire stems that connect to the bail. The pendant has a wonderful 3-dimensional look with lovely detail throughout. The necklace fastens in the middle at an attractive yellow gold hook clasp, which is stamped "14K" at the tongue. It's a simply magnificent piece and would make an eye-catching addition to any collection! The beaded necklace measures approximately 17" long. The rock quartz crystal pendant hangs 2" long, is 1 1/4" wide and 3/4" thick.
