Boucheron Natural Untreated 12.80 Carat Sapphire Diamond Ring Set in Platinum

A truly exceptional Boucheron Art Deco inspired sapphire and diamond ring set in platinum, circa 1950. The ring is set to its centre with an impressive natural, untreated 12.80 carat cushion cut sapphire which is securely eight-claw set in platinum. The sapphire has a desirable vibrant deep blue violet colour, adding to this, it is a natural untreated East African sapphire certified as such by the industry respected Gubelin Gem Lab in Switzerland. As this is a natural, untreated stone there are natural inclusions such as colour zoning and feathers which can be seen within the stone. We feel that these enhance the beauty of the stone and you would expect to see such inclusions within a natural sapphire of this significant size. The stone is framed either side by an elegant tapered baguette cut diamond within a fine rubover setting and for a total of 0.26 carats approximately. These side shoulders taper beautifully down the finger and are a perfect paring with the centre stone. A true statement ring, featuring impressive stones by Boucheron, Paris. The ring is currently a UK finger size J (USA size 4.25) but this can be resized for a perfect fit. Signed 'Monture Boucheron' with Assay marks for France to the outer band.
