A spectacular late Art Deco (ca1930s) era diamond and sapphire ring from C. D. Peacock, an acclaimed Chicago jeweler. Crafted in platinum, this fabulous piece boasts a wonderful symmetrical bypass design adorned with brilliant gemstones. A glittering old European Cut diamond is paired with a vibrant blue sapphire, each prong set and overalapping at the stacked centerpiece design. A trail of graduated Baguette Cut diamonds merge into the platinum band and a row of prong set Full Cut stones line the curved center. The larger prong set stones weigh approximately 0.90ct each, the diamond displaying H color and SI2 clarity. The remaining accent stones have a collective total weight of approximately 1.00ctw, creating a beautiful, sparkling complement. The outer edges display fine ridges and the ring is completed with an open channel flanking the curved centerline. A smooth platinum band marked "PEACOCK" and "10% IRID PLAT" along the inside shank finishes the look. This ring has a unique appeal and would be a fabulous addition to any Art Deco collection! The ring fits a finger size of 5 but could be resized slightly. The central design measures approximately 9/16" wide, slightly more than 5/8" wide, and rests approximately 3/16" above the finger when worn.
