Glamour, luxury and elegance define Wedderien jewels. The firm was established in 1921 by Albert Wedderien, Edie Chase, R. Hellstern and Minnie Cosgrow of the renown Dreicer & Co. The showroom was located at Madison Avenue and Fifty Second Street in New York City. They catered to exclusive clientele as Dreicer & Co. was on par with Cartier at the time. Clients included United States presidents, the Clark family, Dreicer supplied The Clark Pink, Huguette Clark's famous pink diamond ring which sold for a record setting 15.7 million USD in 2012, and numerous other society figures. Wedderien jewels are uncommon and rarely appear on the market. This elegant gold diamond and enamel elephant brooch is of beautifully stylized Art Deco form with elongated design features, cream enamel tusks and sparkling diamond eyes. A touch of playful humor is infused in the design in the charming, just slightly upturned tip of the trunk. Elephants represent success, wisdom, power and peace. Signed on the back Wedderien, 585 for 14K gold
