Stating that this collection was all about working from a “new inspiration”, Prada unlocks a mystical wonderland in her Spring 2008 Fairy Collection by employing curvilinear lines, delicate details, and fantastical yet demure tonal colors. Featuring a striking print in colors of wine, burgundy, and taupe on a cherry blossom pink ground, this columnar dress has many crafted elements. First is the dramatic print illustration of a girl lying under a flower in full bloom near the hem. Near this area several exposed darts are stitched around the skirt providing some texture. This story is echoed in the dresses petal sleeves that are contrasted with a black bias binding. The dress has a bound plunging scoop neckline that is balances by the stark rectangular waistband detail. To the left, a stitched ribbon breaks up the elaborate print.
