Italian luxury brand Prada has made a mark with their refined styles and classic reinventions. However, the namesake designer Miuccia Prada is no stranger to considering creative twists. Stating that this collection was all about working from a “new inspiration”, Prada unlocks a mystical wonderland in her Spring 2008 Fairy Collection by employing curvilinear lines, delicate details, and fantastical yet demure tonal colors. As seen as look 22 from the spring runway and editorial spreads with Vogue, this black, silk organza dress creates a superb optical illusion through the use of color and the exquisite print by James Jean. Atop the black self, leaf green, blue, tangerine, pale orange, and soft purple organza is layered and appliqued allowing for a water color look that makes the colors appear to blend. This design alludes to a floral or a butterfly wing motif. On the right side near the waist, a black accent divides the flamboyant design. The neckline is a wide scoop with a bad hugging the neck. Full length sleeves and a straight hem complete this dress. Please note Prada sizing runs small, so refer to the measurements: Size:38 Measurements; Shoulders: 13 inches Sleeves: 23 inches Bust: 32 inches Waist: 25 inches Hips: 36 inches Length: 51 inches This sheer organza dress is unlined, however comes with a charcoal silk slip to be worn underneath. At centre back, the dress closes with an invisible zip. It is in excellent condition and professionally cleaned and pressed. High-quality vintage pieces like this are yours to live in and love while increasing in value every year. It’s never too soon to start collecting them, as an investment in your wardrobe—and in yourself.
