20th Century Art Deco Bakelite & Celluloid Austrian crystal rhinestone feather brooch. This piece has a bright red Bakelite base with black and ivory applied Bakelite pieces and hand-carved celluloid feather with sterling silver detail. Pin/clasp is silver tone metal. Projection measures, 1.5" inches. This extraordinary "Studio" piece is handcrafted from recycled elements. the red base most likely a belt buckle and the applied pieces all from other vintage jewelry elements. The feather stem has been hand-carved from a piece of vintage celluloid.
