An Anglo-Indian yellow gold demi-parure of a fine cone-work finish, consisting of a brooch and pair of drop earrings, the circular shaped brooch, with a central dome surrounded by seventeen semi-spheres and bead decoration, each of the earrings consisting of a gold ball suspended by an oval domed top, to shepherd-hook fittings, all in yellow gold, circa 1890, the brooch measuring approximately 3.4cm in diameter, the earring measuring approximately 3.3x1.3cm, gross weight 23.12 grams. A wonderfully bold late nineteenth century brooch and earrings set. This set features a pair of earrings comprised of two gold balls, and a brooch of one larger gold ball surrounded by a boarder of further spheres. Each of the balls is decorated throughout with tiny and fine gold cone-work decorations. This set comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and shows the influence Indian design began to have on English design during the British Raj. Should you choose to make this purchase we would be delighted to send it to you in a Bentley & Skinner handmade leather case packed in a gift-wrapped Bentley & Skinner black and gold presentation box. Shortly afterwards we will send you on a valuation for insurance purposes for your reference and safekeeping.
