Garnet Picture Frame for the table. Former property of Mary, Duchess of Roxburghe. Sold on the Sotheby’s auction in London: Property & Precious Objects from the Estate of Mary, Duchess of Roxburghe. The frame still holds a really fainted photograph. I have not removed it specifically for the new owner to do it before putting in a new picture. Keeping the tradition. The frame is equally beautiful to watch from the back, with it’s artistically designed table stand. It was surely done on purpose, as the frame stands on the table facing you when sitting and showing the backside to whom is on the opposite side.
