Fine set of six antique Russian vermeil silver and guilloche enamel tea spoons by the 11th Artel Moscow, in the original signed Tiffany & Co. silk lined box. In superb condition, each spoon with robins egg blue ( a Tiffany's color) guilloche enameling on the back, guilloche enameling in red and green (flower element) on the front and back of each handle and traditional enameling in lavender and plum colors on the border decoration. Highly unusual to see three color guilloche enameling with two color traditional enameling for a total of five different colors on each spoon, a masterful feat of virtuosity. The interior surface of each spoon is finely textured and engraved with ornate initials (difficult to decipher, very decorative). The original Tiffany box is wood and linen (linen showing signs of wear and slight discoloration as per photos) with a locking mechanism, a silk moire interior and gold lettering Tiffany & Co. New York Paris London. The tea ceremony has been and continues to be a very important part of Russian culture. It is closely tied to the pleasure of socializing and the healthful effect of tea, considered a kind of elixir for all that may ail one. This luxurious set of teaspoons was created in the Pan Slavic style with an Alenkii Tsvetochek on the handle, a reference to the classic Russian fairy tale. It would make a perfect holiday, housewarming or birthday gift. Marks: 11A, 84, Kokoshnik on each spoon For a similar set, see Christie's Russian Art auction #2434, 12 April 2011, lot 179
