An amazing antique, early Victorian snake or serpent ouroboros bracelet. The bracelet is made from tightly woven brown hair with a 9 karat gold head and tail, a mourning piece stacked full of sentiment with the symbolism of eternity coming from the ouroboros. The head of the serpent is exceptionally detailed almost resembling a mythical dragon. The tail is engraved and holds the gold slide that inserts into the serpents mouth to close the bracelet, the lip of the clasp becomes the serpents tongue. The hair is very smooth and has slight elasticity to it. The head and tail are unmarked but test as 9 karat gold, English make, early Victorian era. Approx measurements' 7" length 0.25" width of the hair 1" length snake head Weighs approx 8.64 grams Condition: Good used condition overall, some wear to a small section of hair on the outer edge.
