Chinese Blue Silk Embroidered Rooster Design Evening Bag circa 1930s

Chinese blue silk evening bag, with embroidery to the front and back, and featuring a wonderful rooster design. The bag has a cord strap and tassels, and there is an embossed gold tone frame and snap clasp. The stunning decoration is hand stitched and hand embroidered with gold thread and a few colours. Approximate measurements are length 20.3cm / 8 inches, height 13.9cm / 5.47 inches, and depth 2.9cm / 1.14 inch. Inside, the gold fabric lining has a pocket. The bag is in very good condition. There is some minor wear to the bottom corners, and the cord. The lining has a stain. There is a small area of fabric next to the frame, where the stitching has come loose. This is a really beautiful Chinese blue silk vintage bag with gold thread, circa 1930s. The Chinese rooster symbolises prosperity and good fortune.
